Blackthorn Blossom

After a morning walk I decided to focus on a near by woodland and use the wild flowers to inspire a range that celebrates Spring. Hand drawn after a walk in early February 2020, this was the first design I produced for my  Celebrating Spring range. I've enlarged the branch so the exquisite blossoms can be seen. This limited edition print shows a spray of Blackthorn Blossom with it's delicate paper petals and tiny red stamens, a green Angle Shade moth is seen in flight. The Indian ink black background gives this design an oriental look. This blossom of the Blackthorn tree is the first to come out, the days are still dark and cold, the delicate white flowers are the first signs that spring is on its way.
